Motorhome trip packing checklist

Book a motorhome

Tip: Your Burstner T 726 G already includes: camping table + 4 chairs, 10 m water hose, 25 m extension cable, 11 kg propane, Slovak motorway vignette, bike carrier and Generali Komfort insurance. You do not need to pack these separately - they are already there.

Documents

  • Category B driving licence (required)
  • National ID card or passport
  • European Health Insurance Card (EHIC)
  • Green card (vehicle insurance) - provided by us
  • Motorhome rental agreement - provided by us
  • Travel insurance (recommended)
  • EU pet passport (if travelling with a dog)
  • Photocopies of documents stored separately

Clothing and personal items

  • Clothes appropriate for the weather + one extra layer
  • Waterproof jacket or poncho
  • Hiking boots and sandals
  • Swimwear (even outside swimming season - waterparks)
  • Sunglasses and hat
  • Toiletries: toothbrush, paste, soap, shampoo
  • Towels (or add Premium Package - towels included)
  • Toilet paper (basic supply)

First aid and health

  • Personal medications for entire trip + spare
  • Painkillers (ibuprofen, paracetamol)
  • Anti-diarrhoea medication and enzymes
  • Travel sickness tablets (if prone to motion sickness)
  • Plasters and bandage material
  • Insect and tick repellent
  • Sunscreen (SPF 30+)
  • Thermometer and antiseptic
  • Spare contact lenses or glasses

Kitchen and food

  • Crockery, cutlery, glasses (or Premium Package - included)
  • Oil, salt, pepper, basic spices
  • Coffee/tea making supplies (or add capsule coffee machine addon)
  • Dish cloths and paper napkins
  • Aluminium foil and cling film
  • Plastic containers for leftovers
  • Bottled water supply (for the first night)
  • Basic non-perishables (pasta, tinned goods)
  • Fridge supplies according to meal plan

Sleep and comfort

  • Bed linen or sleeping bag (or Premium Package)
  • Pillows (Burstner has its own, but an extra pillow is always welcome)
  • Warm blanket for cooler nights
  • Extension power strip for interior use
  • Sleep mask (long summer days)
  • Torch or headlamp for night-time movement outside

Tech and navigation

  • Chargers and cables for all devices
  • Power bank (backup charging)
  • Camera or action camera
  • Bluetooth speaker
  • Headphones / earbuds
  • SIM card or eSIM for your destination (or EU roaming)
  • Offline maps (Maps.me, Google Maps offline)
  • Park4Night app (finding campsites and overnight spots)
  • Power socket adapter for AT/DE (handy but not essential)

Camping and outdoors

  • Table and chairs - already included with the motorhome
  • Awning - part of the motorhome
  • Camping mat/rug (or Premium Package)
  • Electric grill - or add the grill addon (+20 EUR)
  • Lighter or matches
  • Bin bags
  • Work gloves (for emptying waste tanks)
  • Flip flops / camp sandals

Travelling with a dog (if applicable)

  • EU pet passport (vet - required for Schengen travel)
  • ISO 11784 microchip (required for EU passport)
  • Rabies vaccination certificate (21+ days before crossing)
  • Collapsible food and water bowls
  • Food supply for entire trip + extra
  • Anti-tick and flea treatment
  • Long line for campsites
  • Favourite toys
  • Cooling mat (for summer heat)

Children (if applicable)

  • Wet wipes (large supply)
  • Children's medicines and thermometer
  • Favourite toys and books
  • Tablet or device for long drives
  • Children's headphones
  • Child's passport or ID
  • Child seat (age-dependent - pick up from us on request)
  • Nappies and baby hygiene items (for toddlers)
  • For older kids: a map and pen to follow the route

Motorhome technical check - verify at handover

  • Motorhome keys (2 sets)
  • Tanks: fresh water full, waste water empty
  • Propane bottle: full (11 kg)
  • 25 m extension cable - in storage box
  • 10 m water hose - in storage box
  • Bike carrier - if you have bikes
  • Spare wheel - under the chassis
  • First aid kit (in cabinet, as required by law)
  • Reflective vest (within reach of driver, not in boot)
  • Warning triangle (in driver storage compartment)
