Why Croatia by motorhome?

Croatia has long been the most popular summer destination for Slovaks — and with a motorhome it is an experience on a whole new level. The Adriatic, crystal-clear water, islands, local restaurants and campsites right by the sea. Dogs are welcome, many campsites offer dog-friendly pitches, and GetFar provides unlimited kilometres — so you do not need to worry about counting them.

    Tolls in Croatia

Croatia has a well-developed motorway toll system. You pay in cash (euros) or by card. Approximate prices:

  • Zagreb – Split: approx. 25–30 EUR (A1)
  • Zagreb – Rijeka: approx. 10 EUR (A6/A7)
  • ENC electronic lanes: if you do not have a transponder, pay at the staffed lane

  • Total tolls Bratislava–Split via Hungary: approximately 50–60 EUR return.

    Peak season vs. shoulder season

**July/August:** Campsites full, advance booking essential, higher prices, heat. But the sea is warmest and the atmosphere best.

**June/September:** Ideal — fewer people, lower prices, pleasant temperatures. Many campsites open from May to October.

**Off-season (October–April):** Most campsites are closed. Wild camping is legally restricted.
